Alberto's Dream by Ken Moores |
First, a word about Alberto. Alberto is a wonderful guy from Portugal who spent about 8 months in Japan doing some kind of training at an auto parts factory. Now, at this factory there was a strange collection of people: Brazilians, a few Canadians, Americans, Aussies, and what have you, along with 1001 Japanese.
Alberto was loved by one and all. Before he went back to Portugal, I had the pleasure of sneaking up while he was sleeping, inserting wires into his brain and recording one of his dreams (Track 11). As strange and disgusting as this may seem, I felt it was my obligation as inducer of this CD, to faithfully reproduce his dream. Unedited, in full, so that people, no matter where they may be, will know what goes on in the mind of an ordinary human being. I wrote most of these songs myself. Some, I just wrote the lyrics. Some, I stole from other people and gave them no credit at all. One song has no words, but it has a lot of sounds from Japan that I wanted to remember. So, I went out early in the morning with my little MD recorder and got a lot of mosquito bites, but it doesn’t matter ‘cause I had fun. |
